Biography
Since its birth in 2010, The Soulmovers has based its proposal on a casual and intelligent fusion of black and Caribbean music with funk, soul and acid jazz. The fresh and powerful vision of the conventional sound that influences the band is updated with the use of colorful harmonies and careful arrangements, creating lively spaces open to improvisation
Whether in song format or instrumental pieces, The Soulmovers own compositions are an example of the blacksound movement in Andalusia. The proposal provides a solid groove in its rhythmic base, a heartbreaking presence of the Hammond organ and the strong and personal timbre of its vocalist, which constitute the band's seal of authenticity
Despite its short life, marked by an interruption of its activity, The Soulmovers has participated in the lineup of the Trasnoches of the Granada International Jazz Festival (2010) and has accumulated several works: One (EP, 2010), Alive! (Live, 2015), Morning Glory Seeds (EP, 2016). In these works, fusion is the band's leitmotiv: from pure jazz to boogaloo, through psychedelia and even flamenco
Currently the band is performing live an updated selection of its recorded repertoire as well as some of the songs that will be part of its first LP. From the most danceable funk to the most acidic jazz, The Soulmovers ensures a complete night with elegance, fun, passion and a lot of rhythm. More than an invitation to dance and a nod to black music. Let the funk take your soul!
